The Success Continues For Dragons' Den Contestant
British Inventor of the Year and Dragons' Den Contestant Sharon Wright, of the Scunthorpe based MagnaMole company, was an inspirational success as guest speaker at our February event in South Humberside.
After receiving her Inventor of the Year award, with orders from some of the biggest companies in the UK, Sharon decided she needed support and guidance to take her business to the next level. She delivered a perfect pitch to the Dragons on the BBC entrepreneurial show The Dragons' Den, received offers of funding from all 5 Dragons, and ended up securing her two favourite ones, James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne.
However, things did not run as smoothly as she anticipated, and Sharon told an audience of local business owners and managers about how she made the wrong decision, and revealed how she launched the product, dealt with the inevitable setbacks, and described the levels of self sufficiency that today’s entrepreneur needed to embrace to survive and prosper.
Business Network host Helen Bennett said she was "blown away by Sharon's resilience" and confirmed that Sharon's story, now the subject of a book, was "an inspiration to everyone in business today."
